Belper is a town and civil parish of the Amber Valley District in Derbyshire centred in the valley of the River Derwent, 8 miles north of Derby. The town is served by regular bus services to Derby and the town's railway station is situated on the Midland Main Line with regular trains between Nottingham, Derby and Matlock. The principal retail provision in the town is found in King Street, a part pedestrianised traditional linear street which is home to a number of typical high street retailers such as Superdrug, New Look and Boots. The Lloyds Bank is located on the northern side of King Street; broadly centre of the pitch in the pedestrianised part.
