The village benefits from a mainline railway station, providing direct trains to St Pancras in c. 44 minutes, along with a doctors' surgery, a newsagent, a post office and a general store. There are also a variety of pleasant walks nearby as the village adjoins Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Carpenters Arms is situated at the heart of the village on Sundon Road, opposite the village hall.
