The Midlothian town of Penicuik lies approximately 9 miles south of Edinburgh close to the Edinburgh city by-pass network as well as the smaller towns of Roslin and Loanhead. The town also just lies to the east of the A702, one of the main routes leading south of Edinburgh to the Scottish Borders. Penicuik is well regarded as a prominent commuter and satellite town to Edinburgh boasting a population of over 16,000. This number continues to rise with substantial house building throughout the town. The bar/restaurant is located on the High Street in a prime trading location within the town centre. This former Mother's Bar and Restaurant occupies a prominent trading position in the heart of Penicuik's town centre, formerly a traditional boozer, Mother's has undergone a significant refurbishment over the last few years producing arguably one of the best looking bars and restaurants in the Lothians.
