Portslade old village is located to the east of Brighton and Hove, approximately half a mile north of the main A270 east-west thoroughfare and a mile south of the A27 Brighton bypass which in turn links to the A23. The area is served by regular bus services and has a range of small shops and pubs in the immediate locality. Portslade railway station is under a mile to the south. Portslade is bounded by the South Downs National Park to the north and Hove Seafront/Shoreham Harbour to the south. There are several schools within the immediate catchment area.
